At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in New York City, Children’s Museum of the Arts responded by creating recorded videos for our school partners and families. The goal was to encourage folks to make art at home, using simple materials. I wrote, shot, and produced these videos in early April from my living room!

Light Portraits
Rico Gatson is one of my favorite contemporary artists. His work is expressive and moving, and the pieces in his Icons series are wonderful works to examine in an educational context. This video invites viewers to experience the themes in Gatson’s work and create a light portrait of their very own.
